We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide dedicated on-site and remote IT support to a local client in the Rappahannock County, Virginia area. This is a full-time, locally based position. The successful candidate must be willing and able to report on-site to client locations in the Washington, VA area on a regular basis and must reside within 30–40 minutes of Washington, VA.
This role serves as the primary IT point of contact for the client, handling day-to-day support, endpoint management, and basic security operations for an environment of 70+ users. Direct escalation support is provided by Dragonfli's senior engineering team. Candidates with 0–4 years of IT support or systems administration experience are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support for end users across multiple client offices
- Manage and maintain Windows endpoints, user accounts, and Google Workspace (70+ users)
- Support and monitor VoIP phone infrastructure and fiber network environment
- Manage wireless access points and perform basic network monitoring
- Support local ERP/finance administration systems (training provided)
- Coordinate hardware procurement, setup, and lifecycle management
- Produce monthly IT status reports for client leadership
- Escalate security events and complex issues to the senior engineering team
- Maintain accurate documentation of the environment, configurations, and support activities
- Operate and maintain vulnerability management and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tooling

Requirements:
Must-Have Qualifications
- 0–4 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience
- Experience supporting Windows endpoint environments
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace administration
- Foundational networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN fundamentals
- Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Must reside within 30–40 minutes of Washington, VA (Rappahannock County area)
- Ability to report on-site to client locations in the Washington, VA area on a regular basis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional presence in government client environments
- Self-starter capable of operating independently day to day without direct supervision
- Ability to obtain and maintain a background check clearance as required by the client
Desired / Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools and vulnerability scanning platforms
- Prior experience supporting government or highly regulated client environments
- Experience with VoIP systems and wireless access point management
- Exposure to ERP or financial administration systems
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and security event triage
- Experience producing client-facing IT status reports or documentation

Travel:
This role requires regular travel via automobile within the Rappahannock County, Virginia area. Interested candidates must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
