Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst to support our North American operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-location environment where no two days are the same, partnering closely with finance leadership and plant management to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
You’ll work on challenging, high-impact projects and process improvement initiatives, contributing to financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and operational support across the organization. Collaborating closely with the Controllers, Divisional Presidents, and leaders in Operations, Sales, and Quality, you will play a key role in driving growth, enhancing performance, and advancing the company’s strategic goals.
Reporting to the CFO, this position is ideal for a CPA who brings strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement. It’s an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing alongside an ambitious, expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements with analysis of results and key variances.
- Deliver actionable insights to support decision-making and improve business performance.
- Support cross-border (Canada and U.S.) accounting and reporting requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and ongoing forecasts with supporting assumptions and analysis.
- Partner with operations and finance leadership to identify risks and opportunities.
Operational & Plant Support
- Collaborate with Plant Management to develop CapEx plans, business cases, and performance analysis.
- Identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement and cost optimization.
Accounting Operations
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead fixed asset management activities, including tracking capital projects, collaborating with Plant Management to ensure timely capitalization, and managing month-end depreciation, supporting accurate financial reporting and operational visibility.
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
- Assist with tax compliance including corporate and indirect taxes.
- Prepare and submit required government and statistical reporting.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the CFO.
Qualifications
- CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA designation required.
- 5–10+ years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience.
- Manufacturing expeience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with frequent sitting and occasional standing or walking.
- Periodic travel between company locations.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
