Summary
Assist management of client relationships by underwrites and servicing a wide variety of commercial loans and leases to build long-term and profitable Equipment Finance / Renewable Energy Finance customer relationships maximizing portfolio asset/revenue growth and asset quality.
Key Responsibilities Include
- The successful candidate will demonstrate consistently high level of ownership of personal performance metrics and team initiatives, flexibility in responding to RM/Sr. PM/senior management and client deadlines, extreme level of detail and follow-through, and independence within the framework of the role in assisting in achieving business unit goals.
- Works in concert with the Equipment Finance / Renewable Energy Senior PMs/RMs on current clients and prospects to independently analyze and complete complex credit approval documentation for both initial and subsequent transaction evaluation, client due diligence meetings, credit underwriting / credit approval package preparation and finalization, including recommendation for approval for both the transaction structure and proposed hold/exposure level. Identifies key risks and mitigation strategies finding ways to make the right decision to promote both growth and a management of credit risk in the portfolio. Discusses rational behind approval recommendations as well as address questions and concerns from Credit Officers (or Credit Risk Managers) and senior management as required to finalize approvals.
- Responsible for portfolio management of assigned portfolio of Equipment Finance / Renewable Energy loans or lease relationships. This includes original underwriting/diligence, annual reviews, renewals and PD rating assignment as well as periodic financial review, off-cycle risk rating consideration, quick turn increase requests and covenant compliance reviews as required by the financing documents. Identifies emerging risks in the portfolio and raises to the Team Lead and/or LOB leader.
- Will be taught and expected to develop a high degree of knowledge of multiple industries including, but not limited to, transportation (trucking, marine, air, rail), array of manufacturing (chemicals, steel, other commodities, variety of end-user finished goods), non-real estate leasing/rental activities (various equipment in various industries), protein and agriculture, food production, medical, renewable energy (wind/solar), power & utilities, communications, construction, information technology, wholesale and retail. In addition, this position will help evaluate new markets and industries for the business unit to explore for growth opportunities.
- Participate and contribute in transaction structuring, relationship strategy and internal credit conversations as well as educate clients and teammates about financial strategies relevant to both equipment finance as well as general banking needs (change to tax laws, accounting rules, market trends and how those may dictate financial strategy) based on customer profile and financial plan and matching customer needs with appropriate products and services.
- May assist or lead in special project. May assist Asset Management in Equipment Evaluations or Operations with the daily activities of the department and specialize in working with outside counsel to prepare, review and negotiate legal documentation. May include other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Include
- Bachelor (4-year college) degree
- 3 - 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Note a Sr. Credit Analyst candidate preferred experience is 2-4 years.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with financial spreading software.
- Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills
- Proficient with applicable computer software and Excel financial modeling
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
- Attention to detail, accurate work product, cross referencing multiple sources, continuous knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Strong work ethic and ability work outside of normal business hours when needed
