Position Summary
Maui Ocean Center is seeking an Events Coordinator to serve as the primary on-site contact for
group, public, and private events. This full-time role is ideal for a highly organized, energetic professional who
thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. The
Events Coordinator oversees events from booking through execution, collaborating across departments to
ensure seamless operations and outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage group, public, and private events from booking through completion
- Serve as primary client contact and coordinate with Sales, F&B, Marketing, and Operations
- Create and manage Event Orders (EOs) to ensure seamless execution
- Oversee on-site event setup, operations, and breakdown
- Conduct site inspections and client tours
- Build strong client relationships and complete post-event follow-ups
- Support marketing, special events, and sales initiatives
- Manage event calendars, client meetings, and assist with payments
- Travel as needed, including trade shows
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing, or related field or 3–5 years of event
planning experience
- Sales experience preferred
- Familiarity with F&B operations
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams
- Strong sense of brand presentation and guest experience
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Confident, professional communicator in client-facing environments
- Comfortable learning new technology (RocketRez a plus)
- Self-motivated, dependable, and service-oriented with a positive attitude
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and assist with event setup
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and variable shifts due to
a 365-day operating environment.
- Work responsibilities include a mix of in-office activities, on-the-road client engagements, and
evening event support
