Job Summary:
The Vice President of Technology is responsible for defining and executing SmartLight’s technology vision, ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of our platforms, and aligning technology strategy with business goals. This role provides executive leadership across engineering, data, infrastructure, and security, while partnering closely with product, operations, and commercial teams to support sustained growth in healthcare analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and lead SmartLight’s technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap, including build vs. buy decisions, vendor selection, and platform modernization, aligned to company objectives
Own end‑to‑end technology execution across engineering, data, infrastructure, and IT services, ensuring scalable, reliable, secure, and cost‑effective delivery
Establish and enforce best practices for software development, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and quality assurance
Oversee data governance, security, privacy, and compliance programs appropriate for healthcare and regulated data
Lead, develop, and retain high‑performing technical teams, including hiring, performance management, and leadership development
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the executive team, providing clear communication, transparency, and decision support
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
12+ years of progressive experience in technology, engineering, data, or related technical disciplines

Improve delivery reliability by consistently delivering what is committed, on time, with fewer defects, less rework, and fewer last‑minute surprises for the business
Build a strong technical leadership bench by filling key leadership gaps within 6–12 months, reducing regretted attrition year over year, and improving engagement and retention across technical teams. Reduce architectural complexity and high‑impact technical debt by retiring or refactoring identified constraint areas, with measurable reductions in cycle time, system incidents, and maintenance effort
Establish strong cross‑functional partnerships with Product, Operations, and Commercial teams, reflected in shared quarterly planning, clearer ownership, and faster execution on cross‑functional initiatives
