Description
The Director of Enterprise Systems drives the strategic planning, execution and management of ISCO Industries' (ISCO) enterprise applications portfolio, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), human resource information systems (HRIS), CRM and marketing automation platforms. This leader will also serve as a critical bridge to ISCO's internal software development team, ensuring that custom-built solutions align with broader business strategy and integrate seamlessly with the commercial application landscape.
With a new IFS ERP implementation underway, this role carries immediate strategic significance. The Director will lead ISCO through the full lifecycle of ERP design, implementation and stabilization — including the IFS CRM module — while simultaneously advancing the maturity of the organization's UKG HRIS and HubSpot marketing platforms. This position requires a leader who can balance the demands of a large-scale transformation program with steady operational stewardship of existing systems.
Reporting to the VP of IT, the Director of Enterprise Systems will collaborate closely with executives and business unit leaders to ensure that ISCO's technology investments deliver measurable value, support operational efficiency and provide competitive advantage.
Primary Responsibilities And Activities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise systems strategy that aligns with ISCO's business goals and growth objectives.
- Own, maintain and promote awareness of the enterprise applications roadmap, with clear linkage to business outcomes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and market trends — including cloud platforms, AI-embedded capabilities and platform-as-a-service models — and incorporate them into the long-term strategy where appropriate.
ERP Implementation Leadership
- Serve as the executive sponsor and day-to-day leader of ISCO's IFS ERP implementation, from solution design through deployment and post-go-live optimization.
- Partner with business process owners to define requirements, manage scope and drive adoption across functional areas such as finance, supply chain, procurement, operations and customer service.
- Oversee the deployment and integration of the IFS CRM module, ensuring alignment with existing HubSpot marketing workflows and a clear delineation of responsibilities between the two platforms.
- Establish governance structures, manage program risks and ensure the initiative stays on schedule and within budget.
HRIS, CRM and Marketing Platform Oversight
- Oversee the strategy, operations and continuous improvement of ISCO's HRIS (UKG), CRM (IFS CRM module) and marketing automation (HubSpot) platforms.
- Collaborate with Human Resources leadership to ensure UKG supports talent management, workforce planning, payroll, benefits administration and compliance reporting.
- Work with sales, marketing and customer service leaders to ensure the IFS CRM module and HubSpot work together effectively — delivering pipeline visibility, customer engagement and service excellence without duplication or data gaps.
Internal Development Alignment
- Work closely with the Technical Program Manager to manage priorities and ensure custom applications and integrations support the broader enterprise systems strategy.
- Conduct buy-build-customize analyses for current and planned capabilities, making clear recommendations grounded in cost, risk, time-to-value and maintainability.
- Define integration standards and architectural guidelines that enable custom solutions to coexist with commercial platforms.
Business Engagement
- Build productive, trust-based relationships with business leaders across ISCO to understand their needs and influence how enterprise systems can enable new sources of value.
- Conduct regular assessments of stakeholder satisfaction with enterprise systems and implement action plans to address gaps.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor and develop direct reports and extended team members supporting enterprise systems.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Portfolio and Vendor Management
- Oversee the enterprise applications portfolio, evaluating and prioritizing initiatives based on strategic alignment, return on investment and risk.
- Identify opportunities for system modernization, integration, automation and rationalization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key software vendors and implementation partners — including IFS, UKG and HubSpot. Develop a deep understanding of vendor roadmaps and leverage that knowledge to inform ISCO's strategy and strengthen its negotiating position.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure the reliability, availability and performance of all enterprise systems.
- Implement best practices for application lifecycle management, including development, deployment, maintenance and support.
- Oversee data integrity and master data management across the applications portfolio.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure enterprise systems comply with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee risk management processes to identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with applications, data and integrations.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the enterprise systems budget, including capital expenditures for the IFS ERP implementation and ongoing operational costs across the portfolio.
- Ensure optimal allocation of resources and demonstrate cost-effectiveness to senior leadership.

- A master's degree or MBA is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated experience leading a full-lifecycle ERP implementation (selection through stabilization). Experience with IFS or similar distribution, fabrication and service-intensive ERP platforms is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing or overseeing HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP) and CRM/marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal software development teams and to guide buy-build-customize decisions.
- Track record of successfully managing vendor relationships, complex program budgets and cross-functional stakeholder groups.

- Program and Project Management: Strong program management skills, including experience leading large-scale, multi-workstream initiatives. Familiarity with agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies. Experience with organizational change management is highly valued.
- Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage effectively with executives, business stakeholders and technical teams. Skilled at influencing without direct authority and building consensus across organizational boundaries.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using data to evaluate system performance, inform decisions and measure business outcomes.
- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial principles, including capital and operating budget management, total cost of ownership analysis and ROI modeling.

- Customer and Stakeholder Focus: Consistent prioritization of business and end-user needs. Drives initiatives that enhance employee experience, customer satisfaction and operational value.
- Integrity and Trust: High ethical standards. Acts with transparency, accountability and consistency.
Working Conditions
- Travel Required: Travel will be driven by project needs and will vary over time. During the IFS ERP implementation, more frequent travel should be expected. Once the implementation stabilizes, ongoing travel requirements will be minimal.
- Work Location: This is an in-office position based at ISCO's Louisville headquarters.
