Authentic helps insurance brokers create better insurance products for their clients. We provide the technology platform and behind-the-scenes support that lets brokers build custom insurance solutions for specific industries or customer groups. We handle the complex (technology, compliance, and partnerships with highly-rated insurance carriers), so they can focus on serving their customers and growing their business.
Responsibilities
- Own the IT stack and compliance for Authentic across both our Dayton and New York offices
- Serve as the primary IT contact for all employees, providing responsive in-person support in Dayton and remote support for New York
- Troubleshoot issues across macOS, Windows, SaaS applications, identity/access systems, and networking
- Manage and enforce IT compliance policies, security standards, and access controls company-wide
- Own the employee technology lifecycle—from onboarding setup through secure offboarding—across all locations
- Manage and maintain office technology at both sites: WiFi, conference rooms, AV equipment, and vendor relationships
- Administer our core tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, and MDM solutions
- Handle hardware inventory from procurement through secure retirement
- Build documentation and self-service resources that scale with the team
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work and improve reliability
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, People, and Security teams on IT initiatives
- Coordinate with local contacts in New York to resolve on-site issues as needed
Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally in fast-paced or startup environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS and Windows devices
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, and MDM solutions (Jamf preferred)
- Understanding of identity and access management (provisioning, SSO, SAML)
- Experience managing IT operations across multiple locations or for distributed teams
- Knowledge of IT compliance frameworks and security best practices
- Ability to clarify requirements, ask great questions, and drive work to completion
- Strong prioritization skills—you know when to move fast and when to be careful
- Clear communication and a service-oriented mindset
Nice to have:
- Experience at a high-growth startup
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Okta Certified Professional or similar certification
- Experience with AV/conferencing systems (Zoom Rooms, etc.)
