About Freehand Chicago
Welcome to Freehand’s second
outpost! Designed by Manhattan-based Roman and Williams, the building
celebrates the city’s Midwestern heritage with a string of evocative communal
spaces and rooms located in the restored 1927 Art Deco building, set among the
high-rises of the downtown River North neighbourhood – home to some of the
city’s best art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Featuring 217 rooms and
amazing public spaces like Café Integral coffee and breakfast bar and the cozy
Broken Shaker Bar, it’s a buzzing, busy space that represents the best of
Freehand. Between the busy social calendar and the ever-changing makeup of
guests and locals coming to play, it’s a particularly fun and fulfilling space
for everyone in the Freehand Chicago team to work in.
Nuts And Bolts Of The Job
- Execute
all guest food orders including prepping the elements needed, cooking all
dishes per the recipe standard, and executing in the time allocated per recipe
- Work with
the entire Food and Beverage team to execute a positive guest experience
- Clean and
put away any dirty dishes that are generated during your shift
- Work
independently during most shifts; necessary to have good time management,
decision making skills to be able to prep based on operational needs, and
forethought to set the next shift up for success
- Shifts
including AM and PM shifts; flexible availability required

What’s In Your Dna
- Must have flexible schedule
- Minimum of one-year experience in a kitchen including knife skills,
organization
- Must exhibit safe health and sanitation practices
- Lifting and bending required; up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to stand for up to 8-hour shifts
- Must have prior experience including
- Must have an Illinois ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate
- Must be able to communicate basic English
- Must be detail oriented
- Basic guest service knowledge a plus
- Comfort with technology a plus
