IT Support Specialist I

Brief Description
Supports overall information systems planning, implementation, and administration in a variety of IT functional areas. Follows internal procedures and guidelines to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Provides support to end-users, assisting with software and hardware malfunctions, setting up new equipment, and documenting and escalating issues as necessary. Installs and configures software and applies patches or updates to maintain basic IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and network devices. Routinely tests and monitors IT system performance to ensure system security and reliability. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
Essential Functions
- Follows internal procedures and guidelines to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks.
- Provides support to end-users, assisting with software and hardware malfunctions, setting up new equipment, and documenting and escalating issues as necessary.
- Installs and configures software and applies patches or updates to maintain basic IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Routinely tests and monitors IT system performance to ensure system security and reliability.
- Provide hands-on support for Windows-based desktop, laptop, and tablet PCs.
- Perform PC repair and troubleshooting.
- Install, update, and repair software on organization systems.
- Support mobile devices and MDM software, such as Microsoft Intune.
- Manage Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange Online.
- Set up workstations with computers and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Monitor and maintain inventory.
- Diagnose and solve technical issues.
- Communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
- Ensure compliance with internet security and data privacy principles.
- Attend educational workshops and complete HIPAA and other compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
