SALARY: The salary range for this position is $60,909.02 to $100,301.72 for Schedule A, and $60,909.02 to $95,286.62 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Information Technology Division in Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren Vicinage is seeking a motivated professional with excellent customer service, analytical, and technical skills. Under the direction of the Court Executive 1B (Information Technology Assistant Division Manager), the selected candidate will be responsible for: responding to/troubleshooting helpdesk calls, including interpreting the nature, seriousness, and immediacy of a call; configuring, physically moving, and installing client workstations and peripheral devices; installing operating systems and applications; configuring and supporting wireless/mobile devices; administration of user and computer accounts; providing technical support for videoconferencing and multimedia presentations; assisting with the installation and testing of software and hardware deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting calls; and performing related duties as required.
Knowledge of various computer systems and video conferencing applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Windows 11, and Office 365, is strongly preferred.
Note: Applicants are advised that this position requires regular travel to all counties in our multi-county vicinage(Somerset, Hunterdon or Warren).
The selected candidate(s) may be required to work a non-traditional work week, which may include Saturdays, Sundays and/or holidays.
In addition, the selected candidate may be required to provide remote or in person support for weekend Criminal Justice Reform proceedings.
REMOTE WORK : The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties
- Answer IT help desk calls, provide technical support, PC administration, and perform basic troubleshooting along with prompt and efficient resolution of problems
- Provision user accounts and process user account changes
- Working independently as well as collaboratively on various ongoing IT projects with IT Staff, other Vicinage Division staff and other agencies as required
- Install, configure, deploy, and move computers and peripherals (must be able to lift up to 30-50Ibs.) , as well as associated operating systems and application software
- Provide technical support for video conferencing and multimedia presentations
- Perform basic VOIP phone administration
- Configure and support mobile devices
- Develop and maintain IT documentation for IT staff and end-users
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
A bachelor’s or associate degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education.
