Kaufman Rossin is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to serve as a senior leader of the firm. The CTO will be responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and governance of the firm's technological environment, ensuring it supports growth, operational excellence, risk management, and client service.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the CTO will have clear authority over the firm's technology infrastructure and core systems while working collaboratively with other C suite leaders to align technology decisions with business strategy, innovation priorities, and risk management objectives.
This role requires a leader who is equally effective setting long term technology vision and driving disciplined execution across a complex, regulated professional services environment.
Technology Leadership & Infrastructure Authority
- Lead the firm's Information Technology function, with direct authority over infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and internal technology operations
- Establish standards for reliability, scalability, performance, and availability across all technology platforms
- Ensure technology services are delivered securely, consistently, and in a manner that supports firmwide operations and growth
- Report directly to the COO while collaborating closely with the CIO, CISO, and other executive leaders on cross functional initiatives
Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture
- Partner with executive leadership to define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with the firm's strategic objectives
- Own enterprise architecture decisions, ensuring systems are scalable, integrated, and capable of supporting future service models
- Lead evaluation and selection of core platforms, balancing build versus buy decisions with long term operational sustainability
Data Strategy & Analytics (Shared Ownership)
- Share ownership of the firm's data strategy, architecture, and analytics capabilities in partnership with executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Ensure data platforms support operational reporting, practice management, and client facing analytics
- Promote responsible data governance, data quality, and security practices across the firm
Digital Transformation, Automation & Innovation (Shared Ownership)
- Drive firmwide digital transformation initiatives, including automation, workflow optimization, and modernization of legacy processes
- Lead adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), and advanced analytics
- Collaborate with the Chief Innovation Officer on exploration, piloting, and scaled deployment of new technologies
Practice & Client Service Enablement
- Partner with practice leaders to ensure technology effectively supports service delivery across tax, audit, advisory, and other practice areas
- Enable client-facing teams with secure, modern tools that enhance collaboration, reporting, data access, and overall client experience
- Support development of technology enabled service offerings that differentiate the firm in the marketplace
Change Management, Adoption & Training
- Develop change management strategies for major technology initiatives, from planning through post implementation
- Ensure successful user adoption through thoughtful communication, training alignment, and ongoing support
- Take responsibility not just for deployment, but for measurable usage, effectiveness, and business impact
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to maintain a strong cybersecurity and risk management posture
- Support incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, and compliance with applicable regulatory and audit requirements
- Ensure technology risks are understood, managed, and communicated appropriately to firm leadership
Governance, Vendor & Financial Management
- Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and decision-making processes
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance across the technology ecosystem
- Own technology budgeting, capital planning, and ROI evaluation for major initiatives
Talent & Organizational Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a high performing IT organization spanning infrastructure, applications, security, and support
- Recruit and retain top technical talent while fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
- Ensure the IT organization is structured to scale with the firm's growth and evolving service offerings
External Representation & Firm Visibility
- Represent the firm externally on technology related topics, including industry panels, client conversations, recruiting efforts, and thought leadership opportunities
- Support business development by bringing credibility and insight around technology enabled services and innovation
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including system uptime, security posture, project delivery, user adoption, and return on investment
- Provide regular reporting to firm leadership on technology performance, risk exposure, and progress against strategic initiatives
- Use metrics to drive continuous improvement and informed decision making
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior responsibility for enterprise IT environments
- Experience in professional services, accounting, consulting, financial services, or similarly regulated industries strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success leading infrastructure operations, enterprise systems, and large scale transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and risk management
- Proven ability to partner with business leaders, manage change, and translate strategy into execution
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
