Vice President of Information Technology (IT)
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid/On-site as applicable)
Position Summary
The Vice President of Information Technology (VP, IT) provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization’s technology vision, infrastructure, systems, and digital initiatives. This role partners with executive leadership to align IT strategy with business objectives, ensure operational excellence, and drive innovation while maintaining security, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy aligned with company goals
- Lead and manage IT operations, infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data systems
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology investments and digital transformation
- Oversee IT budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Ensure data security, regulatory compliance, and risk management best practices
- Drive system modernization, cloud initiatives, and process automation
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT leadership and staff
- Establish IT governance, policies, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with business units to deliver scalable, user-focused technology solutions
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and system resilience planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including senior management roles
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise IT strategies
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, ERP systems, and data management
- Experience managing large budgets and enterprise-level vendors
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in industries common to the Houston market (energy, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, or professional services)
- Background leading digital transformation or large-scale system implementations
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory environments
