Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Information Security Analyst to support auditing, monitoring, and risk management functions for systems containing confidential and sensitive data. The analyst will play a key role in evaluating IT controls, monitoring security logs, assisting with compliance audits, and ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations. This role works closely with the IT Security Manager and various technical teams to enhance the organization's security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor information security conditions, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Audit and monitor systems, applications, networks, and IAM logs for potential threats or vulnerabilities.
- Assist with configuring log collection and reporting tools.
- Participate in federal and state security audits (e.g., IRS, SSA, OCSE, FBI, SBOA) and support audit documentation and remediation activities.
- Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and SOPs aligned with regulatory requirements and frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53.
- Stay updated on emerging security regulations, privacy laws, and technology trends.
- Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of information security tools, policies, and control frameworks.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, remediation, and incident response practices.
- Understanding of domain structures, user authentication, and digital certificates.
- Experience with log management systems and security monitoring platforms.
- Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CISM (preferred).
- Network administration or IT infrastructure experience (preferred).
