POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our Enterprise Application Engineering team and drive digital transformation initiatives. This hands on strategic leadership role will be responsible for managing application development teams, partnering with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, and crafting comprehensive digital strategies that align technology investments with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Enterprise Application Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Manage team performance, including goal setting, performance reviews, career development, and succession planning
- Build and retain a high-performing team through effective recruitment, onboarding, and talent development strategies
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability structures within the application engineering organization
Strategic Planning & Digital Strategy
- Collaborate with C-suite executives and business leaders to understand organizational goals and translate them into actionable technology strategies
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive digital roadmap that aligns with business objectives and drives competitive advantage
- Identify emerging technologies and digital trends that can create business value and recommend strategic investments
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise application platforms and solutions
- Create and present strategic recommendations to executive leadership and board members
Business Partnership & Requirements Gathering
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit leaders, acting as the bridge between technology and business operations
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to understand business challenges, priorities, and opportunities for digital enablement
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical specifications and project plans
- Build strong relationships across the organization to ensure technology initiatives support business outcomes
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, risks, and benefits effectively
Enterprise Application Portfolio Management
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications across the organization
- Ensure application architecture aligns with enterprise standards, security requirements, and scalability needs
- Manage the application lifecycle, including upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and retirement of legacy systems
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and user experience
- Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines
Project & Program Management
- Lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives from conception through delivery
- Develop project plans, timelines, resource allocation strategies, and budgets for application development initiatives
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Implement agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices across the development organization
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing application development teams
- Proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation initiatives and enterprise application implementations
- Experience working with executive leadership and business stakeholders to define technology strategy
Technical Skills
- Expertise in modern application development methodologies including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
- Strong knowledge of enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and business intelligence platforms
- Familiarity with integration technologies, APIs, microservices architecture, and data management

POSITION – TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand .
TRAVEL
Travel will be required as needed to support remote locations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
