About the role
Trustmark is hiring a Business Analyst to join the team.
Responsible for partnering with Voluntary Benefits business areas to capture and document requirements for complex initiatives, including creating business requirement documents and specifications. Facilitates workshops for requirement gathering and preparing business cases and reports for stakeholders. Serves as a liaison between Voluntary Benefits and IT, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined and communicated. Supports the business in documenting requirements and validating that delivered solutions meet business needs. Works in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodology.
Key Accountabilities
Capture and Document Business Requirements
Partner with business areas to define and document functional and non-functional business requirements through the facilitation of workshops, observations, interviews, surveys, focus groups and other mechanisms to ensure accurate and complete requirements are reflected.
Create clear and concise specifications including business requirements specifications, illustrations, and / or user stories.
Understand current and future state business processes to ensure requirements will deliver and end to end functional solution.
Identify areas of opportunity within processes to drive greater automation.
Project Team Support
Serve as a communication bridge between VB and IT, ensuring effective coordination throughout project planning, implementation, and post-deployment.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT partners on design, development, and QA teams to ensure accurate documentation, testing, and execution of business requirements.
Ensure technical solution accounts for all business requirements and end-to-end solutions meet business needs
Work with Project Manager/Product Coordinator to align on MVP approach (where applicable) and support iterative deployments.
Refine Features into sprint sized User Stories meeting the Definition of Done to support agile methodology as a delivery mechanism.
Provide basic end-user support, facilitate feedback assessments, and identify opportunities for improving post MVP launches.
Operational Support
Investigates and documents business issues and partners with IT for resolution . d resolves complex issues to ensure accuracy in processing or defect identification.
Conduct insightful ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
Support operational SME’s in understanding how business processes interact with technology transfer knowledge to ensure business becomes more self-sufficient.
Support VB operations as needed to ensure adoption of technology and digital products

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of experience OR high school diploma or GED with 7-10 years of related experience.
Strong interpersonal skills; both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management.
Strong understanding of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
strong drive for results, initiative, and issue resolution.
Preferred
Experience in the insurance sector – especially Voluntary or Group Employee Benefits.
Experience with Project Management tools (e.g., ADO, JIRA, Trello).
Ability to run complete SQL queries.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$79,292.00 - $114,533.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
