About the Role:
The System Administrator manages and maintains the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring the systems' stability, security, and efficiency. This role involves overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues. The Jr. System Administrator will work closely with other IT professionals to support the organization's technology needs and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure systems and components.
- Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of IT services.
- Proactively monitor system performance, apply security patches, and perform routine updates to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Identify and resolve system problems to minimize downtime while escalating support for more complex issues.
- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization's data and systems.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and implement system upgrades and improvements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Configure, and manage desktop, mobile, and laptop devices.
- Provide support to helpdesk.
- Other job duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an IT System Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of desktop and server operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Proficient supporting enterprise systems/platforms such as Microsoft 365 (O365), Sharepoint, Box, Mimecast, Sophos, Veeam, AWS, Azure.
- Familiarity with enterprise networking components and services, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience working as a System Administrator.
- Any relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Associate) are a plus.
