This position has a base compensation range of $140,000.00 to $150,000.00 In addition to this base compensation, you'll benefit from our competitive health and welfare programs, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan, opportunities for tuition assistance, and incentive compensation for eligible positions. Salary determination considers your skills, experience, job location, internal pay equity and job architecture. The Director, Business Development – Project Logistics is responsible for winning new accounts within the assigned branch(es) territory. The position is also responsible for maximizing sales growth from existing customers through the development of new sales, product marketing, and customer support strategies; and achieving specific volume growth targets in the assigned area(s) of the business.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Promote and grow the Air and Sea freight services (both imports and exports)
•Client analysis on gross margin, volume, and profitability as well as client management with respect to handling complaints
•Collections: Payments and TDS and updating the CRM system
•Cold calling, quoting and closing new business, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of customers/ accounts
•Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
•Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs -from various sources
•Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
•Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
•Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiating prices for proactive bids and proposals
•Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentation developing new ideas/ strategies
•Proactively source and qualify new business opportunities/leads via inbound and outbound marketing efforts
•Travel weekly within the US to meet clients
•Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of an educational requirement.
•5+ years of relevant experience
•In-depth knowledge of Shipping Line, Freight Forwarding products such as Sea/Air Import & Exports, Project Cargo, ODC (over dimensional cargo), Ro-Ro (roll on, roll off), Break Bulk/Commodities
•Relevant experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry and good knowledge of Inco Terms and Operations
•Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
•Working experience with sales techniques
•Experience with logistics processes, systems and solutions.
•Knowledge of CRM systems a plus, basic PC knowledge along with Microsoft Office applications experience is a minimum.
•Strong written and oral professional communication skills.
•Customer relations experience required
•Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills a must.
•Must be an ambitious self-starter who can be flexible in the face of ambiguity
•Good problem solving and negotiation skills are critical
•Ability to travel in-territory 50% or more and valid driver’s license required.
