Software Defined Initiatives, Vice President
Key Role:
Focus on engineering and integrating Booz Allen’s Software-Defined Everything (SDE) architecture to enable Physical AI, Edge, Trusted Environments and other applications across mission domains. Assess software-defined infrastructure needs from across the enterprise to guide development and integration of scalable, modular capabilities. Lead technical teams in designing and implementing software-defined compute, network, data, and spectrum systems that form the foundation for distributed, AI-enabled missions. Oversee the engineering and integration of new SDE capabilities, building upon existing platforms, such as EdgeExtend, AI-RAN, and AI Stacks. Drive innovation in orchestration and adaptive control systems that transform hardware-bound functions into resilient, software-defined services. Lead efforts to create a repeatable SDE platform supporting mission applications that require speed, security, and real-time adaptability. Collaborate across Defense, Civil, National Security, and Commercial sectors to ensure SDE engineering aligns with mission and enterprise AI strategies.
Basic Qualifications:
25+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale software-defined system development
10+ years of experience leading engineering teams delivering software-defined or virtualized systems in Commercial or Government environments
Experience managing full lifecycle engineering, from design through deployment, for distributed and autonomous systems
Experience integrating cloud, edge, and AI architectures to enable mission resilience and autonomy
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience developing or integrating software-defined compute, networking, or storage solutions supporting AI and autonomy applications
Experience with orchestration frameworks, digital twins, and real-time control systems
Possession of strong collaboration and technical leadership skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field preferred; Master's degree a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $275,000 to $445,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
