The Quality Assurance Manager develops and implements QA programs to meet the quality needs of assigned programs/projects and oversees the evaluation of a finished product for quality and reliability. May assist in the development of quality control standards.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership, developing and directing QA and quality improvement for all company products and services.
- Perform QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
- Create and maintain all QA documentation and/or manuals.
- Lead the team and guide professional development, train, supervise, and evaluate QA staff.
- Undertake reviews to verify welder operator qualifications.
- Keeping up to date on all code endorsed inspection stamps and meeting the standards of today's industry.
- Write and maintain quality and data reports.
- Communicate with management team including production, engineering, and applications regarding quality and specification issues and recommendations.
- Administer all aspects of employee management to include hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance reviews, pay increases, addressing complaints, resolving problems and disciplinary actions.

Supervisor Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position will work in an office environment as well as a non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent standing and walking. The employee will frequently lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Working on Friday may be required as necessary to meet operational requirements.
Travel
Travel is less than 10% for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training
- NDE level 2 certs. MT, PT & Film Interpretation
- Experience with section VIII Div. 1 codes
- Familiar with D1.1, B31.1 & B31.3
- Familiar with section I codes
- Possession of strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in quality assurance or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- CWI certification preferred
