Job OverviewThe Legislative & Advocacy Affairs Manager is responsible for providing implementation and execution support for the legislative and advocacy agenda by managing and monitoring the state and federal legislation tracking system for legislation impacting AltaMed operations and patients; developing legislative summaries. This position is responsible for the management and oversight of the Government Relations staff. Additional responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing proposed legislation to recommend advocacy strategy, preparing policy briefs, interfacing with federal, state, and local elected officials, and assisting with the implementation of the Government Relations legislative strategy and policy priorities. This position will also support civic engagement activities as directed.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a health care-related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in legislative, advocacy or public policy work required.
- Minimum of 3 years management-level experience.
- Experience in developing written and printed materials aimed at legislators or senior-level policy makers.
- Experience in grassroots advocacy activities is required.
- Spanish speaking strongly preferred.
Compensation$116,710.89 - $145,888.60 annually
