Job Summary (Data Center Technician)

Lead MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) operations while ensuring compliance with cabling and racking standards.
Install, run, label, and document copper and fiber cabling for data center deployments.
Independently rack, stack, and perform structured cabling for new hardware deployments.
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and hardware issues, including fiber diagnostics.
Coordinate and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support infrastructure upgrades.
Ensure that all assigned data center infrastructure is properly configured, installed, tested, and fully operational.
Install and configure relevant software as per client requirements.
Proactively identify, log, and detail problems and incidents as they occur.
Liaise with stakeholders—including client IT, carriers, and colleagues—for rapid error diagnosis and resolution.
Investigate and resolve second-line support calls, identifying root causes using knowledge articles.
Respond to alerts and escalate unresolved issues to L3 Field Engineers as needed.
Maintain up-to-date incident records with detailed progress and resolution notes.
Apply tools and processes to track, log, and report on configuration items, components, and changes.
Assist in implementing remedies and preventative measures for issues in systems, processes, and services.
Provide both remote and onsite second-line technical/field engineering support.
Report and escalate issues to third-party vendors when necessary.
Follow shift handover procedures to ensure service continuity.
Maintain strong communication skills, adaptability, and a client-centric approach.
Plan and manage activities/projects proactively, adapting to changing circumstances and working under pressure as needed.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in IT, Computing, or related field and professional certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP DC, NetApp, EMC).
Have moderate experience in building, deploying, and supporting data center networking infrastructure, including intermediate knowledge of Nexus and MDS series equipment and integration with server/storage technologies.
