Senior Communications Specialist - MS&B Business Development & Strategy

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a
Senior Communications Specialist based in either
Arlington, VA; Everett, WA; Seattle, WA ;Renton, WA; will also consider Oklahoma City, OK, for the right candidate
, to lead communications efforts in support of all growth and market positioning priorities for the BDS Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) division.
Reporting directly to the BDS Senior Director of Communications for Business Development and Strategy (BD&S), this role will partner closely with the Vice President of MS&B BD&S and Senior Manager of MS&B communications, serving as an embedded member of both the MS&B BD&S and Comms teams.
Major responsibilities include developing, executing, and measuring strategic integrated marketing communications plans in support of priority global (U.S. and international) sales campaigns for the KC-46, P-8, and E-7 programs, among others. This role will additionally play a central role in domestic advocacy efforts supporting the MS&B portfolio, as well as partnering to develop market positioning and communications strategies to help capture next-generation opportunities.
Day-to-day, close collaboration with domestic and international business development and communications teammates is crucial to success in the position.
Senior BD&S Comms specialists are expected to act as "quarterbacks" of the strategic communications plans they develop, partnering collaboratively with divisional, functional and international teammates on execution.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience building and executing communications plans, including working on and off-the-record with the media
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to produce top quality deliverables at pace with minimal rework or editing.
- A passion for innovation and/or aviation - and storytelling
- A talent and passion for navigating complex global political dynamics - a desire to work on high-impact, high-visibility projects
- The capability to identify, shape and execute stories in a timely manner - be a content creator
- On-air or behind camera television news or production experience preferred, including video shooting and editing skills

Position Responsibilities:- Leads or directs the design, development and deployment of communication plans and branding strategies that support enterprise and/or business unit goals and objectives
- Oversees the development of strategies and tactics that connect target audiences to those objectives and goals with significant impact on Boeing business results, policies, or employee and/or leadership initiatives
- Provides advanced expertise in identifying content and appropriate production resources and techniques for Boeing internal/external communications including co-marketing activities and determines channel strategies
- Manages and plans the promotion of stories to key media and evaluates the merit of media inquiries about business unit activities
- Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with influential contacts
- Anticipates, plans and manages communications and branding around issues facing the enterprise and/or business unit
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- Bachelors degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners across teams
- 5+ years of experience applying verbal and written communication skills including spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style, proof reading and editing skills
- 5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft office suite
- Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team
- Willing and capable to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Masters degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience creating or managing digital and social media content/channels
- Professional level experience with video production and editing
- Working knowledge and experience with global defense procurement processes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $116,450-$180,550
