Under the direction of the Manager of the Public Affairs Office (C.E.A.), the Branch Manager of Creative Services (Staff Services Manager II [Supervisory]) is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and strategic direction of the Creative Services Branch, encompassing the areas of Graphic Design and Mapping, Video Production and Audio-Visual Services, Photography, and Exhibit Design Services.
This position ensures that all visual and multimedia communications accurately and effectively convey the Department's mission, programs, and priorities to the public and agency collaborators across the State of California. The position establishes and implements branch policies and long-term strategic plans in alignment with the goals of the Public Affairs Office, the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the California Natural Resources Agency.
Serving as a key advisor to the Public Affairs Office executive leadership, the Branch Manager provides expert guidance on visual communication strategies, supervises and mentors staff, manages performance and recruitment efforts, and ensures consistency in branding and messaging. Through effective leadership and coordination, this role supports DWR's efforts to enhance public understanding of California's complex water management systems and the DWR's vital role in their stewardship.
