Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I.POSITION OBJECTIVETo provide engineering support for capital improvement and expansion projects. Ensure that the project's daily and routine activities meet the requirement of budget, schedule, and quality as well as safety/health/environmental under company policies on Engineering Center matters during design, construction, pre-commissioning and startup activities.
II.MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYProject Handling: Project engineering coordinator for improvement and expansion projects. Collect engineering information include specification, engineering data, drawings, operation and maintenance opinion/suggestion. Communicate and following up project activities with PICs. Project B-4 closure issuing when project 100% completion.
Budget/Schedule Control: Estimate, coordinate, and issue B-2 project budget per project scope of works for review and approval. Project schedule A-Chart/B-pert development and following up. Payment invoice review and processing.
Equipment/ Piping Procurement: Issue material/equipment purchasing requisition per DDE provides specifications. Vendor drawings review/comment and approval. Evaluation & clarification vendors quote and submit evaluation summary for approval.
Bid Package Development and Construction management: Issue Bid package, review & clarify bidders' proposals, then do the evaluations report. Coordinate pre-con meeting before the mobilization with unit and operation. Call for kick-off meeting, based on the job category. Assist with Contractor to solve the engineering issue regarding fabrication or field construction. Visit and check in vendor's shop, witness pressure testing. Submit project progress report on monthly basis. RFI response and FAR preparation for contract closing.
Leadership and Staff Development: Coach and lead individual team members for continued development.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS- Previous Related Experience Required
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering design, projects execution/management and construction of petrochemical industries.
B.S. Degree in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering required; other engineering disciplines may be considered.
