LEARNING DISABILITIES TEACHER CONSULTANT 1.0 FTE - MONTROSE EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 2025THE POSITION The candidates must be knowledgeable of NJ State Special Education Code and of functional assessment procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 1. New Jersey Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification required.
2. Experience with differentiated instruction.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in this area.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

*Starting Salary Range: • Bachelor's Degree: $66,100 - $99,568
• Master's Degree: $73,400 - $109,118
• Master's + 30 Credits: $77,410 - $114,703
• Doctorate: $80,410 - $117,703

- To assist school personnel in helping students learn behavioral, subject matter, and/or skills that will contribute to their development into mature, able, and responsible adults.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Perform educational assessments and make referrals to appropriate community resources
2.Identify student's educational needs
3. Consult with teachers to assist in the implementation of strategies, modifications and accommodations specific to classified pupil's IEP's
4.Assist in the development and delivery of in-service programs for teachers
5.Provide referral services to outside agencies and serve as a liaison to the agencies
6. Serve as a consultant to parents, school personnel and community groups on educational issues
7.Ensure provision of service to classified and potentially classified pupils to whom this individual is assigned as case manager, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:14
8.Serve as a member of the Child Study Team
9.Conduct formal and informal educational evaluations and compose reports detailing results
10. Maintain contact with parents/guardians of assigned students
11. Maintain current records of services provided and cases assigned
12. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Services
