We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Technical Support Specialist (Freelance) to provide on-site support for hardware systems, primarily Point-of-Sale (POS) equipment, across multiple client locations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, is comfortable working independently in the field, and is committed to delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain POS systems, peripherals, and other IT hardware
- Perform routine technical support tasks, including equipment configuration and system updates
- Use checklists and standard operating procedures to ensure quality and compliance
- Document interventions, issues, and resolutions clearly in company systems
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams via mobile apps, email, and other tools
- Travel to various client sites using personal vehicle, sometimes on short notice
- Ensure proper handling of devices and maintain records as per legal and operational guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles
- Basic knowledge of networking or Windows-based systems
- Experience working with ticketing systems and remote support tools
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in technical support, specifically in hardware and POS systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Availability to travel regularly to client locations within the region
- Comfortable using **mobile applications, checklists, and email tools
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- English level B1+ or higher (speaking and reading technical instructions)
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
