Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Project Program Manager to lead and deliver multiple IT projects involving the implementation and customization of commercial off-the-shelf software, mobile/web technologies, system integrations, intelligent automation (RPA), infrastructure upgrades, and more.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing concurrent projects within a matrixed organization and will possess strong planning, execution, and stakeholder communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end management of IT projects, including software implementations, system integrations, infrastructure upgrades, and automation initiatives.
- Manage 3 or more projects concurrently, typically lasting 6-8 months each, depending on complexity and lifecycle phase.
- Oversee matrixed project teams, resolving resource availability challenges in a multi-project environment.
- Create and maintain effort-driven, auto-scheduled project plans using MS Project/Project Server.
- Reconcile planned project hours with timecard system data; investigate and address discrepancies to maintain forecast accuracy.
- Maintain accurate financial forecasts, manage actual costs vs. forecasted budgets, and proactively adjust funding as needed.
- Comply with all PMO-defined processes, procedures, and templates.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, decisions, and assumptions, escalating appropriately and timely.
- Prepare and deliver bi-weekly project status reports to stakeholders.
- Support project administration including updating actuals, reviewing schedules for compliance, and maintaining project documentation such as change requests, charters, and close-out reports.
Required Qualifications- 5 to 7+ years of recent experience managing IT projects with budgets of at least $150K.
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS Project.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects from inception to completion.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management disciplines: planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to drive results, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing conditions while maintaining professionalism and urgency.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience using MS Project Server in a collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with effort-driven project planning techniques and MS Project's schedule engine logic.
- Experience managing vendors and executing Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Understanding of project financial reconciliation and forecasting tools.
- Familiarity with PMO standards, methodologies, and documentation processes.
- Experience updating timecard systems and administrative project support tasks.
- Ability to work with limited project resources in a matrixed environment.
