Sunset Aquatic Shipyard — a family-run, full-service boatyard in Huntington Harbour serving the boating community since 1980 — is looking for a skilled shipwright to join our crew.

We're a small, tight-knit operation with a loyal customer base built on quality work and word-of-mouth reputation. If you take pride in your craft and want to work somewhere your skills are respected, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Fiberglass repair and structural lamination
• Gel coat repair, color matching, and restoration
• Woodworking and carpentry (teak decks, rubrails, interior work, hatch frames)
• Thru-hull fitting inspection, replacement
• Marine plumbing repair and installation
• Drive line service — shaft seals, cutlass bearings, strut and engine alignment
• Rudder packing and hydraulic steering repairs
• DC electrical diagnosis and repair, running lights, battery/charging systems
• Bait tank pump and plumbing installation and troubleshooting
• Bottom painting and hull prep as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Hands-on experience in marine repair — fiberglass, woodworking, mechanical, or all of the above
• Ability to work independently and manage jobs from start to finish
• Attention to detail and pride in producing quality, lasting repairs
• Reliable, professional, and a good fit for a small team environment
• Experience with a variety of boat types and sizes a plus

COMPENSATION: Pay is based on your experience and skill level. We treat our people fairly.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Sunset Aquatic Shipyard —un astillero familiar de servicio completo en Huntington Harbour que sirve a la comunidad marítima desde 1980— busca un carpintero de ribera / técnico naval calificado para unirse a nuestro equipo.

Somos una operación pequeña y muy unida, con una clientela leal construida a base de trabajo de calidad y recomendaciones de boca en boca. Si se enorgullece de su oficio y quiere trabajar en un lugar donde se respeten sus habilidades, queremos saber de usted.

SUS FUNCIONES:
• Reparación de fibra de vidrio y laminación estructural.
• Reparación de gelcoat, igualación de color y restauración.
• Carpintería naval (cubiertas de teca, cintones, trabajos interiores, marcos de escotillas).
• Inspección y reemplazo de pasacascos
• Reparación e instalación de plomería marina.
• Servicio de línea de ejes (sellos de eje, cojinetes de arbotante, alineación de arbotantes y motores).
• Prensaestopas de timón y reparaciones de dirección hidráulica.
• Diagnóstico y reparación eléctrica de CC (luces de navegación, sistemas de batería/carga).
• Instalación y solución de problemas de bombas y plomería de tanques de carnada.
• Pintura de fondos y preparación de cascos según sea necesario.

LO QUE BUSCAMOS:
• Experiencia práctica en reparación marina (fibra de vidrio, carpintería, mecánica o todo lo anterior).
• Capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente y gestionar proyectos de principio a fin.
• Atención al detalle y orgullo por realizar reparaciones duraderas y de calidad.
• Persona confiable, profesional y que se adapte bien a un equipo pequeño.
• Experiencia con variedad de tipos y tamaños de embarcaciones es una ventaja.

COMPENSACIÓN: El pago se basa en su experiencia y nivel de habilidad. Tratamos a nuestra gente de manera justa.
