This is a higher level of caregiving, I’m a Quadriplegic man on total life support. You should be Empathetic, Compassionate, Curious, Talkative, Intuitive, and Educated beyond 8th Grade! There are at least 4-5 hours and occasionally more in a 12 hr. Shift, that you will be on your feet working with me! I will try to explain some duties below so please read to the end. I am looking for an experienced caregiver who is a self starter, quick learner and has experience in many of the duties I have listed below. There are many little things to learn so a strong memory is essential. Please toke into consideration:
1. ADL’s
2. Lift transfers
3. Ventilator(s) (hands on knowledge, programming & troubleshooting)
4. Trach Care (Steril cleaning & changing)
5. Tracheal suctioning Steril
6. Range of Motion
7. Colostomy care & change
8. Supra Pubic Catheter care & change.
9. Skin care & knowledge of Decubitus Ulcers.
This is some experience you will need. Driving a full size van is part of the job, the ability to communicate, writing concise nursing notes and giving accurate verbal reports at end of shift, etc. You should be under 50 yrs. old and no less than 5’4” tall. You will need to know how to cook, healthy full meals. The shifts are 7pm-7am/7am-7pm and I pay cash! Please respond with “I can do it”.
My care is DIVERSE, but not complicated for someone with MEDICAL EXPERIENCE! You should have a good head on your shoulders, be compassionate, empathetic, talkative (ability to “Talk Story”), in good physical condition (NO BACK, NECK, LEG, ARM, BRAIN ISSUES) and have the ability to troubleshoot anything that comes up. This comes with experience in the field!
This job is not for beginners or someone who works multiple jobs. I have 3.5 12 hr. shifts per week available (3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off including a Sunday every other week). I pay $27-$30 cash per hr. depending on experience and how much training you will need, plus continued education, it costs me. I do background checks so please don’t be a criminal, substance abuser, or anything that will make me say you’re freaking crazy. You should be able to tell me if you have had issues in the past, if you do, I’m pretty cool that way and can often work things out.
