Description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support accurate and timely payment operations for a local government organization in Surfside, Florida. This role is responsible for reviewing invoices, maintaining proper coding, and helping ensure disbursements are processed in accordance with established financial procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and prior experience handling high-volume accounts payable activities.
Responsibilities:
Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization before processing
Assign correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment data into the financial system
Prepare and coordinate regular check runs to ensure vendors are paid within required timeframes
Maintain organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with internal departments and external vendors
Monitor payment schedules and follow established procedures to support timely disbursements
Use Tyler Technologies Munis to process accounts payable transactions and update related records

Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role
Demonstrated ability to code invoices accurately and manage invoice processing workflows
Experience preparing check runs and handling payment documentation with a high level of accuracy
Familiarity with standard accounts payable controls, recordkeeping practices, and reconciliation support
Proficiency working with financial systems, including Tyler Technologies Munis
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding payment matters
