JOIN A TEAM THAT TRULY HELPS PEOPLE
We are a local, family-owned funeral home seeking a dependable and compassionate person to join our First-Call Team. This part-time position allows you to be on call from home and respond when needed to help families in our community.
You will assist our Funeral Directors with after-hours transfers from hospitals, care facilities, private residences, and other locations to our funeral homes in South Eugene and Cottage Grove. We primarily serve Lane and northern Douglas counties.
No funeral service experience is required. We will train the right person.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Respond to after-hours first calls and transfers
- Care for and transport deceased persons with dignity and respect
- Interact professionally and compassionately with families of decedent
- Work with hospitals, care facilities, Medical Examiners, law enforcement, fire/EMS, and other professionals
- Follow identification, chain-of-custody, and documentation procedures
- Safely operate, clean, fuel, and restock company vehicles and transfer equipment
- Assist Funeral Directors with additional duties as needed
SCHEDULE
- Rotating schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off
- On-call hours: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- While on call, you can generally remain at home or nearby until dispatched
- You must be reachable by phone or text and able to respond promptly
- Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability is part of the position
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS
- Dependable, compassionate, and professional
- Comfortable working independently, including at night
- Calm and respectful in sensitive situations
- Able to communicate clearly, pay attention to detail, and follow established procedures
- Comfortable driving at night and in traffic and inclement weather
- Able to safely perform the lifting, pushing, and pulling required during transfers
QUALIFICATIONS
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation
- Must live within approximately 30 or less minutes of our South Eugene facility
- Professional appearance and appropriate attire
Previous funeral service experience is not required. Experience as a funeral service employee, CNA, caregiver, EMT/paramedic, first responder, or in another service-oriented profession can be helpful.
A UNIQUE PART-TIME OPPORTUNITY

Additional weekday hours may be available assisting our funeral directors or working in crematory operations.
