EM Upholstery Technology / LeatherTeck — San Bernardino, CA
We install premium leather seat kits in cars, trucks, and SUVs — and we are looking for good hands to train into the trade.
This is NOT a job for a finished master upholsterer. If you have beginning upholstery skill, or you work with interiors every day — car audio, detailing, auto glass, body-shop work, industrial sewing — we can teach you the rest. You will be trained personally by a master upholsterer with 45 years in the craft.
The work:
- Remove and reinstall vehicle seats and interior trim
- Install leather seat upholstery kits to a high standard
- Extras as you grow: carpet installation, headliners, basic upholstery tasks
The schedule: part-time to start — install days follow the install calendar, including some Saturdays. Any day you are called in, you are guaranteed a minimum of 4 hours paid. This seat is built to become full-time as sales grow.
Pay: starts at $19/hour as a trainee, with a written ladder to ~$22/hour as a solo installer.
You need:
- Careful hands; beginning upholstery skill OR real experience removing/installing vehicle interiors
- A valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- You must live within about 25 miles of our San Bernardino shop (703 S Gifford Ave)
- English or Spanish — either is fine
We are a small team built on enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment. We hire character and train skill. If work is just a paycheck to you, please don't apply.
How to apply: reply to this post and answer these three questions in your own words (applications without them are not read):
1. What hands-on work have you done? (Cars, interiors, sewing, tools — tell us the truth, beginner is fine.)
2. Why do you want to learn this trade?
3. What does your weekly availability honestly look like?
Start your answers with the word "Despacio." It tells us you read the whole post — we read every word of yours, too.
