SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT, REMODEL DIVISION
Riddle Construction | Salem, OR
Riddle Construction is a luxury custom home and remodeling company based in Salem, serving clients throughout the Willamette Valley and the Central Oregon Coast. Our Remodel Division is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead the entire field operation.
This is a planning and supervision role. You build the field plan for every remodel, and a team of 3 to 4 Assistant Superintendents and 1 to 2 field crew members carries it out under your direction. Your job is to lead, plan, inspect, and teach until your team can run jobs to the Riddle standard with less frequent supervision.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Own the field results on every active remodel in the division
• Build a field plan for each job: sequencing, crew assignments, trade timing, inspections, and quality checkpoints
• Manage the crew schedule two weeks out and keep the master schedule current
• Visit every active job on a regular rotation to inspect, coach, and correct
• Lead the field safety program, including site meetings, inspections, and PPE standards
• Inspect work at each phase before it is covered, and approve trade partner payments
• Direct subcontractors and hold them to our schedule and quality standards
• Run the field side of closeout: punch lists, final inspections, final clean, and client walkthrough
• Keep daily logs, photos, and to-dos current in BuilderTrend
• Protect and respect every client's home while we work in it
LEADING AND TEACHING YOUR TEAM
This is the heart of the role. You will be measured as much by how well your Assistant Superintendents perform as by how well the jobs are built. You will check in with your team daily, build a training plan for each person, teach on the job, and give each person more responsibility as they earn it.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 10+ years of residential construction experience, including at least 5 years as a superintendent
• High-end remodel experience: occupied homes, existing conditions, and fine finish work
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building science, and Oregon residential code
• Strong safety leadership
• Comfort with construction management software, Word, Excel, Outlook, and photo documentation
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR check is part of hiring)
• Willingness to travel regularly between Willamette Valley and Central Oregon Coast job sites in a company vehicle
NICE TO HAVE
• Experience with BuilderTrend, Adaptive, QuickBooks Time (TSheets), Dropbox, and AI tools
• Experience managing multiple projects and superintendents at once
• Experience training Assistant Superintendents and field crew
• Experience building in the Willamette Valley or on the Oregon Coast
THE DETAILS
• Full-time, hourly, Monday to Friday
• After-hours and weekend availability for jobsite emergencies
• Reports to the Director of Remodels
• Daily site walks, ladder and scaffold access, and lifting up to 50 lbs
