Position Title: Janitorial Services
Job Details:
Must be able to work all race days, which includes weekends and holidays, during the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club 2026 fall racing season. No exceptions.
Time Commitment:
Wednesday – Sunday (35-40 hours week), seasonal, non-exempt
2026 Season: November 4 – November 29 (Closed Mon, Tue)
Wrap Up: November 30th
Position Reports To: Shayla Ward, Supervisor of Janitorial Services
Requirements, Skills & Experience
• Must be 18 years of age with a valid drivers license
• Including but not limited to: Maintaining a clean facility by completing a variety of tasks on the inside and outside of the building. Maintain the cleanliness of all public and office areas.
• Observe and report any maintenance repairs needed.
• Return Lost and Found items to Security.
• Respond to guest requests in a polite and professional manner.
• Abide by all safety procedures to ensure safety of themselves, other staff and guests.
• Use only cleaning supplies provided by DMTC, following the manufacturer’s dilution concentration, application and contact time.
• Change gloves, cleaning equipment, cloths, mops and solutions between areas.
• Start of the shift, review the work assignment, check equipment & supplies required to perform the tasks, pick up Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and otherwise prepare for duties.
• Assists Colleagues as directed by Supervisors and Managers.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned by Supervisors and Managers.
• Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 40lbs. In some case more, based on position.
• Extensive bending, kneeling, lifting, and stair climbing while carrying supplies.
• Negotiate uneven ground surfaces.
• Able to lift and lower from one height to another.
• Mobility for extended periods of time. (stand 45%, walk 55%, sit 0%)
• Work with cleaning chemicals; proper use training will be provided.
• Other duties as needed
Rate of Pay: $18.66 an hour
