Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support high-volume accounting operations for a client. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for an accounting specialist who can manage payables, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely reporting. The role offers the opportunity to work across core accounting functions while helping ensure reliable month-to-month financial activity.
Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records.
Perform regular account reconciliations to verify balances, resolve discrepancies, and support clean financial close processes.
Record journal entries with appropriate documentation to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that provide clear insight into accounting activity and account status.
Support accounting operations for a high-volume environment by organizing transactions and prioritizing deadlines effectively.
Investigate and correct variances in account activity by partnering with internal stakeholders and maintaining detailed records.
Assist with month-end and periodic close tasks to help ensure financial data is complete and reported on time. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or entry-level Accountant role.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing and account reconciliation.
Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately.
Experience generating financial reports and working with accounting data in a client-focused setting.
Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions.
