Production Control Coordinator Overview. Basic Overview; maintain/organize production schedules, and monitors production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, on schedule, and efficiently. This position coordinates materials, labor, work orders, and communication between departments to maintain a smooth workflow from order entry through final packaging and shipment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling; ensure lumber, sheet goods, hardware, finishes, and packaging supplies are ordered per material requirement breakdown per schedule.
Maintain and track daily and weekly production schedules progress based on customer due dates, shop capacity, labor availability, and material requirements.
Monitor progress through each production stage, including cutting, milling, assembly, sanding, finishing, hardware installation, and packaging.
Track schedules/orders from initial release through completion and shipment. Keep job documentation organized and current.
Coordinate packaging, crating, shipping documentation, and carrier scheduling.
Qualifications
Experience in production control, manufacturing coordination, production scheduling, or a similar role.
Familiarity with woodworking, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, or custom fabrication preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple jobs with different specifications and deadlines.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, work-order systems, inventory records, and scheduling tools.
Ability to read and interpret production drawings, dimensions, bills of materials, and job specifications.
Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with shop personnel and management.
