Mobile Car Wash & Detailing Technician
Pay: $25–$28 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Typical Hours: 36–46 hours per week
About the Job
Clarity is looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our growing mobile cleaning team.
This is not a typical car wash attendant position.
Our technicians work at homes, businesses, commercial properties, and fleet locations throughout San Diego County. You will be trained across multiple professional cleaning services and have the opportunity to develop into a Crew Lead, Supervisor, or Management position as the company grows.
No professional detailing or cleaning experience is required for the right candidate. We care heavily about reliability, work ethic, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and leadership potential.
What You'll Do
Depending on the day's schedule, technicians may perform:
Mobile car washing (regular cars, SUV's trucks)
Commercial and government fleet washing (garbage trucks, school buses, utility trucks/vans, box trucks)
Exterior vehicle cleaning
Interior vehicle cleaning
Automotive detailing
Cleaning of trucks, vans, work vehicles, and specialty fleet vehicles
Pressure washing
Exterior property cleaning
Window cleaning (optional, includes pay raise if fully trained)
Residential cleaning (optional, includes pay raise if fully trained)
Commercial cleaning
Equipment setup and breakdown
Hose and pressure-washing equipment management
Vehicle and equipment maintenance
Job-site cleanup
Quality-control inspections
Customer service
As Clarity continues expanding, technicians may also have opportunities to cross-train with additional divisions and specialty automotive services.
Every day won't necessarily look the same. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being outside, learning different skills, and working in different locations instead of standing at the same car wash every day.
What We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
Show up on time and can be counted on
Enjoy physical, hands-on work
Are comfortable working outdoors
Don't mind getting wet or dirty
Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
Can follow detailed procedures
Take pride in finished work
Have a positive attitude
Can work independently and as part of a crew
Want to learn new skills
Are interested in taking on more responsibility over time
Previous experience in car washing, detailing, pressure washing, landscaping, construction, warehouse work, janitorial work, fleet maintenance, or other hands-on jobs is helpful but not required.
We are willing to train someone with the right attitude and work ethic.
Physical Requirements
This is an active position. Team members should be comfortable:
Being on their feet for extended periods
Bending, reaching, and kneeling
Working outdoors in varying weather
Handling hoses and cleaning equipment
Performing repetitive cleaning tasks
Working around wet surfaces
Getting dirty when cleaning commercial and fleet vehicles
Some of the vehicles we service work hard for a living. Applicants should be comfortable cleaning everything from passenger vehicles to commercial work trucks and fleet vehicles.
Career Growth
We're especially interested in people who want to grow with the company.
Our goal is to develop team members through a progression such as:
Technician → Senior Technician → Crew Lead → Supervisor → Management
As Clarity expands into additional markets, exceptional long-term team members may also have opportunities to participate in future territory or franchise ownership opportunities.
We aren't just looking for people who can clean vehicles. We're looking for people who could eventually lead the teams doing the work.
Hiring Process
Our hiring process is simple:
Application
Short 10–15 minute phone interview
Paid field evaluation
Job offer for successful candidates
The paid field evaluation gives you an opportunity to work alongside our team, experience the job firsthand, and decide whether Clarity is a good fit for you.
