WMATA seeks a Lead Test Engineer for its Web Modernization and SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 projects. The role develops test strategies and automation, executes functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing, tracks defects, and supports releases.
WMATA is currently executing two strategic digital modernization initiatives: the Web Modernization Project and the SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project. Both projects are actively underway and are critical to enhancing the customer experience across WMATA's digital channels. The Web Modernization Project involves the complete redevelopment of the front-end experience for wmata.com and smartrip.wmata.com, replacing the existing platform that was last significantly refreshed in 2016. While a separate vendor is responsible for the website front-end implementation, WMATA requires resources to develop, integrate, test, and deploy the supporting SmarTrip backend services and APIs necessary to enable the new website functionality. The modernized platform will continue to serve as WMATA's primary digital channel for transit information, customer self-service capabilities, and SmarTrip account management The SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project focuses on enhancing the existing iOS and Android SmarTrip Mobile application by introducing new features and improvements designed to provide a more personalized, intuitive, and user-friendly customer experience. WMATA requires support for application integration, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and production implementation of the SmarTrip backend components that support the mobile application and related services
