JOB DESCRIPTIONWTXF Fox 29 is seeking a talented, fast-paced News Photographer/Editor to capture and deliver compelling general news assignments. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for field videography, live remote broadcasts, and non-linear show editing. The ideal candidate thrives under deadline pressure, possesses strong technical skills, and excels at visual storytelling in a major market news environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Videography & Gathering: Capture high-quality video, lighting, and audio for general news stories, reporter packages, and special projects using professional digital camera equipment.
- Live Field Production: Operate Live ENG remote equipment, including ENG trucks, field editing tools, and bonded cellular transmission devices (e.g., LiveU).
- Show & Newscast Editing: Edit video, sound, and visual elements accurately and efficiently for daily newscasts, reporter packages, and special assignments.
- Editorial Alignment: Demonstrate a strong understanding of script structures, editorial standards, and newsroom workflows to ensure visual elements match storytelling goals.
- Flexibility & Travel: Work dynamic shifts, including weekends, holidays, and travel on short notice as news dictates.
Required Qualifications & Expertise
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (College degree preferred).
- Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. of field production equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of lighting, audio, computer systems, and multi-format camera/media workflows.
- Live Remote Experience: Proven hands-on experience with live ENG remote skills, truck operations, field editing, and bonded cellular setups.
Nice to have
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent on-the-street TV news photography experience.
- Software: Hands-on experience with LiveU technology and Edius non-linear editing software.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $30.88-51.22 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
