Bayside Lighting Co. is a growing, licensed outdoor lighting company based in Costa Mesa. We install permanent architectural lighting on homes and businesses throughout Orange County and surrounding areas.
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on person to join our installation team. This could be a great fit for either someone with solid basic construction/tool experience who wants to learn a new trade, or an experienced installer/tradesperson who is capable of taking on more responsibility.
Pay: $25–$35+/hour depending on experience, skill and responsibility.
Someone who needs to be trained can start at $25/hour. Applicants with strong relevant experience may start higher. As you learn our installation process and become capable of working more independently or leading installations, there is room for additional pay and responsibility.
Every scheduled installation day comes with a minimum of 8 hours of pay, even if we finish the job early. We understand that if you reserve the day and travel to a job site, it needs to be worth your time.
Permanent-lighting experience is not required. We can train the right person. Experience in construction, roofing, solar, electrical/low-voltage, exterior lighting, Christmas-light installation, painting, handyman work, or another hands-on trade is a plus.
The work includes installing exterior lighting along rooflines and eaves, working from ladders, measuring and cutting materials, using hand and power tools, running low-voltage wire, preparing materials, and producing clean, professional installations.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Dependable and shows up on time
- Comfortable working from ladders and around rooflines
- Experienced with basic hand and power tools
- Mechanically inclined and able to learn quickly
- Able to perform physical outdoor work
- Detail-oriented and takes pride in their work
- Comfortable working both as part of a crew and independently once trained
- Able to reliably get to job sites throughout Orange County
This is currently part-time/project-based work, not a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week position. The number of scheduled days will depend on our installation schedule, with the potential for considerably more work during busy periods.
There is real opportunity to grow with us. Our goal is to develop installers who can eventually take responsibility for complete installations and lead other crew members. We're willing to pay more as your skills and responsibilities increase.
