Passenger Support Representative
San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is accepting applications for Passenger Support Representatives.
Pay: $21.45/hour. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Passenger Support Representatives help customers with transit information, ticket purchases, Ticket Vending Machines, and general questions. They also assist passengers at transit stations and help support special events and other MTS activities.
We’re looking for friendly, helpful candidates with good customer service skills, good judgment, and a positive attitude who enjoy working with the public.
Schedule & Availability:
This is a part-time, as-needed position, and a specific number of hours per week is not guaranteed. Some weeks may have no available assignments.
Shifts:
• May be scheduled on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• May start as early as 4:00 AM or end as late as midnight
• Typically range from 3–9 hours, with an average shift of approximately 4 hours
• May include both indoor and outdoor assignments
• Outdoor assignments may require working in various weather conditions
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Example of Duties:
• Provides general passenger assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
• Gives accurate information regarding ticket purchases and route information to the public.
• Assists customers using the MTS ticket vending machines, mobile ticketing application, and fare validation equipment.
• Sells various types of transit fare tickets to the public.
• Makes timely and accurate change for transit fare ticket purchases.
• Represents MTS and public transit at community outreach events in a positive and professional manner.
• Maintain a good understanding of the regional fare policies, PRONTO fare programs, and other MTS initiatives.
• Assists with special projects as needed.
