NOW HIRING – EXPERIENCED CRATE BUILDER
HR Direct Services is seeking an experienced Crate Builder for a manufacturing company in Pomona, CA.
IMPORTANT: PREVIOUS MANUFACTURING OR INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
This position will construct wooden crates, containers, and skids used to package machinery, equipment, and manufactured components for domestic and international shipments.
This is an industrial/manufacturing position. We are looking for someone who has experience working around manufactured products and equipment—not solely residential or general construction experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and assemble wooden crates, containers, skids, and packaging
Measure machinery and manufactured products to determine crate dimensions
Prepare, secure, and package products for domestic and international shipment
Read and follow work instructions, measurements, and specifications
Perform basic mathematical calculations for dimensions and materials
Operate saws, drill presses, planers, sanders, routers, and other hand and power tools
Inspect completed crates to ensure products are properly secured and protected
Safely operate a forklift to move materials and completed shipments
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing work area
REQUIRED – PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING:
PREVIOUS MANUFACTURING, INDUSTRIAL, OR PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
Minimum 2 years of experience constructing, maintaining, or repairing wooden structures, crates, fixtures, or similar products
Strong experience using hand and power tools
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Basic math and measurement skills
Previous forklift operating experience is required
Ability to perform physical work involving lifting, bending, standing, and material handling
Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record required
PAY: $22.00 PER HOUR
