JMAA is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of “Director of Information Technology”.

The Director of Information Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for JMAA’s enterprise technology environment. The role establishes technology strategy, governance, cybersecurity, resilience, and service delivery priorities aligned with JMAA’s mission and the operational demands of JAN and HKS. In addition to technology leadership, the Director builds a cohesive, high-performing IT team by installing consistent leadership practices, developing talent, strengthening psychological safety, ensuring role clarity, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Director is accountable for the planning, security, availability, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of enterprise information systems; for leading personnel, budgets, projects, vendors, contracts, and policies; and for advising senior executives and the Board on technology investments, risks, and performance.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Eight years of progressively responsible IT experience, including five years in leadership
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, service delivery, budgets, personnel, and complex projects
- Experience in regulated or critical-infrastructure environments preferred
- Experience developing teams, coaching leaders, and building cross-functional collaboration preferred
- Preferred certifications:
Network Administrator or equivalent required, such as:
CompTIA A+ (foundational) CompTIA ITF+ or Network+
Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)
- Be able to pass and maintain background and airport security clearance
- Have a valid Mississippi driver's license with a class B endorsement and the ability to receive authorization to drive in secured areas.

- Develops and maintains an enterprise technology strategy, multi-year roadmap, governance model, and
performance objectives aligned with organizational priorities.
- Evaluates business needs and recommends secure, cost-effective, supportable solutions that enhance operations, safety, customer experience, and productivity.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Leads, coaches, and evaluates IT personnel; installs consistent leadership and communication practices across the team; establishes clear responsibilities, professional-development plans, succession strategies, and a culture of trust, service, collaboration, security, and continuous improvement. (Expanded) Builds psychological safety through transparent communication, timely feedback, and consistent accountability. Develops bench strength and prepares emerging leaders through mentoring, exposure to enterprise decision-making, and structured growth opportunities.
Leadership Operating System& Culture
- Establishes shared norms for delegation, escalation, feedback, and cross-functional coordination to reduce friction and improve execution across JAN and HKS.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Directs cybersecurity and technology-risk programs, including IAM, patching, monitoring, incident response, third-party risk, and data protection.
Continuity & Resilience
- Establishes and tests business continuity, DR, redundancy, and emergency-response plans
Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Oversees architecture, security, capacity, and lifecycle of networks, servers, cloud, telecom,
applications, databases, physical security systems, and other operational technologies.
Project& Capital Program Leadership
- Leads full lifecycle of IT and technology-enabled airport construction projects.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develops operating and capital budgets; performs long-range planning; manages procurements, contracts, vendor performance, and compliance.
Communication& Executive Engagement
- Provides dashboards, briefings, corrective-action plans, and recommendations to executive leadership
Other Duties
- Committee participation, stakeholder engagement, audit support, cross-departmental teamwork,
professional service delivery, and assigned duties.
