Position Overview
Hale Glass is seeking a motivated Glazier Trainee / Shop Fabricator to join our team. This is an entry-level, hands-on position designed for someone interested in learning the glazing trade while developing skills in glass handling, architectural aluminum fabrication, shop equipment, and glazing processes.
As skills, safety performance, and experience develop, trainees may have the opportunity to advance into a Field Glazier position. Field assignments may be provided during training at management’s discretion but are not guaranteed.
Primary Responsibilities
Train in a fabrication shop environment under the guidance of experienced glaziers and fabricators.
Learn and assist with the fabrication and assembly of architectural aluminum storefront framing.
Fabricate aluminum extrusions and learn to operate various shop machinery, including CNC equipment, power saws, drill press, router, and notching machine.
Learn proper glass handling, metal cutting, measuring, preparation, and fabrication techniques.
Safely carry, move, stage, and handle glass panels and related materials.
Use hand and power tools, including drills, drill motors, screw guns, grinders, chop saws, routers, and other shop equipment.
What We’re Looking For
Interest in learning the glazing and glass fabrication trade.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including measurements, fractions, area, and volume.
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable means of transportation to report to the fabrication shop and assigned work locations.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various physical positions throughout the workday.
Lift, push, pull, carry, and move materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
Safely handle glass and other construction materials.
Work around elevated noise levels and industrial shop equipment.
Use ladders and material-handling equipment as needed.
Work Environment
Indoor work in a high-noise industrial environment.
Occasional outdoor exposure may occur depending on assignments.
