Role:
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for the development, growth, and ongoing management of Soarion Credit Union's indirect lending dealer network, including HomeX dealers, indirect auto dealers, and other approved dealer partnerships. The BDE serves as the primary business development contact between the Credit Union and its dealer network, prospecting, onboarding, and maintaining productive dealer relationships. The role requires developing strong relationships with dealer ownership, executive leadership, finance managers, and operational staff to promote Soarion's lending products and services.
The BDE identifies opportunities to increase loan production, improve dealer engagement, enhance loan quality, and support the Credit Union's strategic objectives. The position requires a thorough understanding of indirect lending, dealer finance operations, market conditions, competitive offerings, underwriting guidelines, pricing, compliance requirements, and loan performance metrics. The BDE is responsible for influencing dealer decision-makers to expand utilization of Soarion's lending programs and maintaining dealer relationships that generate profitable loan volume.
The position develops targeted business development strategies, monitors dealer performance, loan quality, application volume, funding trends, pricing competitiveness, and profitability. The BDE coordinates marketing efforts, dealer promotions, training events, trade shows, and dealer appreciation programs while gathering market intelligence and recommending process improvements and program enhancements. Strong communication, sales, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills are essential. Regular onsite visits to current and prospective dealers are required to strengthen partnerships, provide training, and identify growth opportunities.
What You Will Be Doing:
Build and Grow the Dealer Network
- Prospect, recruit, and onboard new indirect lending dealers, including HomeX and indirect auto dealer partners.
- Identify and prioritize dealer opportunities that align with Soarion's strategic growth objectives.
- Assess dealer needs, operational capabilities, and lending opportunities.
- Present Soarion lending products, services, technology, and financing programs to prospective partners.
- Prepare and coordinate dealer onboarding activities and ensure successful implementation of lending programs.
- Establish productive relationships with dealer ownership, executive leadership, finance managers, and operational staff.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned dealer accounts.
Maintain and Strengthen Existing Dealer Relationships
- Conduct regular dealer visits to strengthen partnerships, address concerns, and identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key dealer stakeholders.
- Resolve dealer service issues and coordinate solutions across internal departments.
- Provide responsive communication to ensure dealers understand program requirements, policies, and expectations.
- Communicate updates regarding products, pricing, policies, procedures, and program changes.
- Maintain ongoing dealer engagement to support sustained loan growth and performance.
Business Development and Sales
- Develop and execute strategies to increase loan volume, dealer penetration, and profitability.
- Identify new market opportunities and dealer segments that support Credit Union growth objectives.
- Influence dealer decision-makers to increase utilization of Soarion financing programs.
- Monitor market trends and competitor offerings and provide recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.
- Gather market intelligence and provide recommendations regarding dealer opportunities and program enhancements.
Training and Dealer Support
- Provide dealer training on lending programs, underwriting requirements, pricing, compliance requirements, and system functionality.
- Educate dealers on product offerings, policies, procedures, and lending guidelines.
- Assist dealers with process improvements that enhance member experience and loan production.
- Support dealer understanding of Soarion programs to drive quality loan growth.
Portfolio Performance and Analytics
- Monitor dealer production, loan quality, funding volume, approval ratios, delinquency trends, and profitability.
- Review dealer performance metrics and recommend corrective actions or growth strategies as needed.
- Partner with Lending and Credit teams to ensure loan quality and performance expectations are met.
- Analyze portfolio performance and recommend strategies to improve dealer results and profitability.
Marketing and Strategic Initiatives
- Coordinate dealer marketing efforts, promotional campaigns, training events, trade shows, and appreciation programs.
- Represent Soarion Credit Union at industry events and dealer functions.
- Gather dealer and market feedback to identify opportunities for process improvements, product enhancements, and business growth.
- Support strategic initiatives that expand dealer relationships and improve market presence.
Compliance and Financial Responsibilities
- Ensure all dealer relationships, activities, and lending programs comply with applicable federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, and indirect lending requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, and compliance standards affecting indirect lending and dealer relationships.
- Identify, escalate, and assist in mitigating operational, regulatory, and dealer-related risks.
- Support risk management efforts while maintaining high-quality dealer relationships.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring Along:
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of business development, lending, dealer relations, or similar experience.
- Strong understanding of indirect lending, dealer finance operations, loan production, and portfolio management.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards, including Bank Secrecy Act-related requirements.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and develop profitable business relationships.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and develop growth strategies.
- Strong emotional intelligence, coaching, and leadership capabilities.
