OverviewPosition purpose: StoneX is building the market’s leading platform for tax credit transactions. The VP – Tax Credits is a senior leader within an established team focused on the brokerage and principal trading of tax credits in the US, with an initial focus on renewable tax credits — specifically credits for biofuels, including 45Z tax credits.
The mandate is to establish StoneX as a recognized expert and facilitator of tax credit transactions, and to scale the business from its current base into a diversified, multi-credit franchise.
Responsibilities
Primary duties will include:
- Develop and manage a pipeline of buyers and sellers (generators) of tax credits.
- Prioritize buy-side origination. The team has built a strong pipeline of 45Z tax credit sellers — primarily ethanol and biodiesel producers — but has had limited success finding buyers. Establishing buyer relationships for the placement of new 45Z credits is the highest priority.
- Expand the business into other forms of tax credits to diversify revenue and broaden the product offering for buyers.
- Facilitate the brokerage or principal trade of tax credits between buyers and sellers.
- Develop the marketing plan and go-to-market strategy, leveraging StoneX’s internal marketing team for digital marketing execution.
- Represent the offering at relevant conferences and industry events, fostering strong relationships across the buyer and seller universe.
- Maintain command of relevant legislation and stay on top of public policy as it relates to tax credits.
Qualifications
To land this role you will need:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in tax credit generation and placement; existing transactional relationships a strong plus.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Education / Certification Requirements:

- 4 days per week onsite, 1 day per week remote.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
