About the Position
The Senior Finance Regulatory Specialist plays a key role in the ongoing development and execution of Ameren's regulatory initiatives and may be responsible for leading cross functional teams and providing strategic input related to regulatory initiatives. The specialists will utilize a robust understanding of the relevant regulatory frameworks to provide reports and key insights to team members. The specialists will also be responsible for preparing and filing various financial analyses to various regulatory stakeholders and may be required to discuss such analysis to various regulatory stakeholders and provide testimony supporting the analyses.
Key responsibilities include:
Supports development of the revenue requirement models that provide the basis for Ameren Illinois electric and gas rate reviews, including aspects used to evaluate financial implications and regulatory alternatives
Supports the analysis of opposing parties' positions, including recommendations of rebuttal strategies
Responds to Staff and intervenor inquiries regarding revenue requirement models and calculations
Prepares financial analysis and provides strategic insight related to regulatory and legislative initiatives
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with coworkers in a wide range of departments that provide inputs or support to regulatory initiatives
Represents Ameren Illinois' interests with external regulatory stakeholders through discussions, written communications, and expert testimony
Supports the preparation of analysis and presentations used for discussions with executives that inform key business decisions. May prepare and deliver departmental or larger group presentations.
Supports the preparation of external regulatory filings with the SEC, FERC, and State Public Service Commissions, including regulatory compliance reports, affiliate transaction support, and depreciation studies
Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and interprets complex accounting, financial, and statistical data
Performs other special financial projects as necessary, which may include financial modeling supporting Certificate or Rider requests, specific capital projects, or new revenue generating activities
Supports the Transmission team's calculation of Attachment O and response to Staff and intervenor inquiries and positions on various issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required. CPA also required. Three or more years of accounting experience required with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards and methods preferred. Reporting experience (e.g., SEC and FERC) preferred. Master's Degree preferred. In-depth utility knowledge preferred, Ability to draw insights from complex analysis and communicate them in an understandable way is a plus.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify, analyze and research financial issues required. Strong oral communication and writing skills required. Demonstrated decision-making skills and ability to work independently required. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Compensation Range:
$105,100.00 - $162,900.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
