Seeking a full-time (Monday through Friday; typically 33 total hours/week) physically active private caregiver for a busy and active female MS patient in her 60’s who currently uses a wheelchair. Candidates must have significant caregiving experience and/or a willingness and ability to learn quickly, and proficiency at pivot transfers for taller individuals. State certification is strongly desired. Candidate must be friendly, personable, reliable, fluent in the English language, honest and reside in one of the communities listed below.
Duties include assisting with daily stretching/exercises; various activities of daily living; occasional light housekeeping; some meal preparation; and transporting to appointments and activities outside the home (vehicle is provided). Must have a verifiable, excellent driving record. Swimming proficiency—including lap swimming—is VERY important as there are sessions at local community and aqua therapy pools 1-2x/week and in-pool assistance is needed. There is also occasional 24-hour coverage needed, including on weekends.
