Retrograde Coffee Roasters is hiring a seasonal coffee roastery production assistant from September - January to work part time at our coffee roastery, with potential to become a permanent role. Our coffee roastery is located in Petaluma at Barn 5400 in a warehouse environment. The production assistant is responsible for assisting the coffee roasters in the production flow and reports to the director of coffee. Please note this is not a coffee roasting or customer facing position.
Work days are: Monday 7 am - 3:30 pm
Wednesday 9 am - 3 pm
Thursday 7 am - 3:30 pm
22 hours a week total - must be available for all 3 days and entire work day.

Key responsibilities
o Follow proper health code procedures at all times
o Correct operation of computer software, make minimal errors
o Assess inventory of green coffees
o Tally online, wholesale, and retail orders to create daily roast schedule with accuracy
o Prepare labels and apply labels properly to coffee bags
o Scale, package and seal roasted coffee for retail, online, and wholesale orders
o Operate equipment such as scales, scaling machine, bag sealing machine safely
o Package online orders accurately
o Maintain and clean roasting equipment with daily, weekly, and monthly schedules
o Put away deliveries - must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand all day (outside of breaks)
