The Technology Finance team plays a critical role in helping one of the company's largest and most strategic investment areas make informed business decisions. As a Financial Analysis Consultant , you will partner directly with Technology leaders and Finance partners to provide financial transparency, enhance forecasting accuracy, and generate insights that improve decision-making across technology investments.
This role goes beyond traditional reporting and variance analysis. You will help connect technology activity and financial outcomes through financial modeling, analytics, and business partnership. You will also play an active role in modernizing how finance operates by leveraging automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve the speed and quality of insights delivered to leadership.

Serve as a strategic finance partner to Technology leaders
Build trusted relationships with Technology and Finance stakeholders
Provide financial guidance and analytical support to inform business decisions
Translate complex financial and operational information into clear and actionable insights
Analyze financial trends, emerging risks, and opportunities and communicate implications to business partners
Challenge assumptions and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and resource allocation
Support financial planning, forecasting, and outlook development
Lead development of assigned forecasts, outlooks, and annual operating plan components
Create and maintain driver-based financial models to improve forecast accuracy and transparency
Monitor actual results versus assumptions and identify emerging risks and opportunities
Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for key business decisions
Partner across Technology Finance to ensure assumptions, forecasts, and reporting remain aligned
Own and explain financial performance
Manage monthly reporting and variance analysis for assigned technology portfolios
Identify and communicate key drivers behind spending trends and forecast changes
Develop executive-ready commentary that explains financial results, risks, opportunities, and actions
Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and accounting requirements
Drive financial transparency and business insight
Analyze technology spending patterns, investment activity, and allocation impacts
Support development of reporting that improves visibility into technology costs and business outcomes
Identify opportunities to improve financial management, decision-making, and resource optimization
Create scalable analyses and reporting solutions that improve consistency and reduce manual effort
Help modernize Technology Finance
Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve recurring finance processes
Leverage AI, analytics, and visualization tools to enhance forecasting, reporting, and decision support
Support implementation of standardized reporting, reusable models, and automated workflows
Promote adoption of modern finance practices that shift effort from data collection to insight generation
Actively share best practices and improvement opportunities across the Finance organization
Collaborate Across Finance and Technology
Partner effectively with Technology Finance, Segment Finance, Accounting, and Business stakeholders
Support cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects
Contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
Demonstrate strong ownership and follow-through on commitments and deliverables
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
5+ years of FP&A, finance business partnering, strategic finance, or related experience
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
Ability to connect operational drivers to financial outcomes and business decisions
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
Proven ability to influence business partners through data, insights, and recommendations
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial concepts to non-finance audiences
Advanced Excel skills required
Experience with TM1, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytical tools preferred
Experience utilizing AI-enabled productivity, analytics, or automation tools preferred
Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting concepts preferred
Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous improvement
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
